From April to June, Egypt offers excellent opportunities to encounter the critically endangered Scalloped Hammerhead Shark. Between September and November, divers have the chance to see the endangered Longimanus (Oceanic White Tip Shark). A minimum of an Advanced Diver Certification is required, with Nitrox and Deep Diver certifications highly recommended. All of these courses can also be completed beforehand to meet the requirements for the dives.
- Maldives
December to April the Maldives offer on their west side atolls amazing opportunity to Snorkel and/or Dive with Mantas and Whalesharks. May to November the big Gilterfeeders can be found on the eastern side of the atolls.
From December to April, the western atolls of the Maldives offer incredible opportunities to snorkel and dive with manta rays and whale sharks. From May to November, these gentle giants can be found on the eastern side of the atolls. Open Water Divers can participate, but a Drift Diver certification is highly recommended. An Advanced Diver certification is also beneficial and can be completed during the initial dives.
